Online shoppers hooked

Research conducted by eBay advertising says that approximately 61% of the population is hooked on online advertisements. It was discovered that the majority of consumers were fascinated by online adverts when they shopped online.

Director of eBay UK and EMEA, Phillip Rinn, opined that online adverts are sensible because they add to a user’s experience.

The research was targeted to analyse the behaviour of online shoppers. It revealed that 36% of users were inclined towards online shopping rather than on the high street.

32% of respondents said that they spend considerable time thoroughly researching before purchasing, 29% said that they spend time online because they could easily discover products and services while 18% reasoned that the variety of choices made them shop online.

Consumers were also asked about the items they would spend on compared to the last six months. The report revealed that 54% would spend less on luxury items like watches and jewellery. 75% said that they would splurge more on home and garden equipment.

Google Ad Campaign Optimisation

An interesting example of the financial benefits of Ad Campaign Management.

This client organises coach hire of all sizes from mini coach to double decker luxury for customers nationwide, they find suppliers for those wishing to hire coaches.

Background

They were already running an Adword Campaign but were disillusioned with it for the following, all to familiar reasons; spending too much, not getting enough enquiries and not getting any help or support. They wanted to reduce their daily spend, reduce the CPC (cost per click) and target a bigger area whilst focusing on larger urban areas, that deliver better quality enquiries.

Impossible right?

Well no, it wasn’t, all their objectives were achieved on the first day!

What was Wrong?

Their campaign was wrong. Not perhaps in any obvious way but to the trained eye the faults were clear. Bids were muddled, keywords and phrases were both incorrectly targeted and inconsistent and the approach to targeting specific regions was not well executed.

How was it Fixed?

2) Revised and simplified the Campaign structure.

3) Targeted specific areas.

4) Reviewed and revised keywords.

5) Reduced some bid prices.

The very next day, less than 24 hrs after starting up the new campaign they were getting ’snowed under’ with enquiries!
